Love Is Blind season five’s Lydia Velez Gonzalez just revealed she’s been dealing with a severe health condition. We all saw Lydia and her partner James ‘Milton’ Johnson IV form a romance during the Netflix<\/a> show. Now, the two are reportedly still together, although their relationship updates are pretty few and far between on the ‘gram. One thing that Lydia has decided she’s no longer staying silent about, though, is her health. She just explained how hard it has been living with fibromyalgia.<\/p>\n

Love Is Blind’s Lydia is ‘done pretending’<\/h2>\n

In May 2024, Lydia took to Instagram<\/a> to share with her followers that it’s not only Mental Health Awareness Month but also Fibromyalgia Awareness Month.<\/p>\n

She wrote the words: “Smile. Shine. Pretend. That\u2019s the audio. But let\u2019s be honest, it\u2019s also the daily routine when you live with fibromyalgia…”<\/p>\n

Because of the condition, Lydia wrote of how she’s experienced “depression, anxiety and guilt.”<\/p>\n

She added that she’s now “done pretending” and wants to raise awareness about the health condition.<\/p>\n

Lydia added:<\/p>\n

“This month I\u2019m showing up for me for the ones silently suffering, for the ones getting misdiagnosed, for the ones wondering if anyone sees them.<\/p>\n

“And for the ones who don\u2019t have the audience or platform to speak up, I use mine for all of us, because creating awareness matters, because we\u2019re not faking the pain, we\u2019re faking being fine.”<\/p>\n

Lydia detailed dealing with online ‘trolls’<\/h2>\n

Not only is the Love Is Blind<\/a> alum dealing with a long-term condition that causes chronic pain, but she also detailed having to endure trolling online.<\/p>\n

She wrote in her IG post: “People keep asking me what the symptoms are, and then there was that one troll who said, ‘You\u2019re always crying’. But maybe if more people understood what this condition really feels like, they\u2019d stop judging and start listening.”<\/p>\n

Some of the symptoms Lydia said she’s had to deal with include “waking up already exhausted, pain that spreads through every inch of your body, your bladder acting up, and your chest hurting for no clear reason.”<\/p>\n

The Netflix star also said she lives with “both every single day,” referring to her mental health and fibromyalgia.<\/p>\n
