The Hulu series is based around a group of TikTok influencers and moms who rose to social media fame prior to filming the show. Demi Engemann and her husband, Bret, feature in the all-new episodes.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stars are based in Utah, much like the cast members of <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/bravo\">Bravo<\/a>&#8216;s The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. As it turns out, there are some links between the two <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/reality-tv\">reality TV<\/a> show&#8217;s casts. Demi&#8217;s husband, Bret, was married to a former RHOSLC Housewife.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-meet-demi-and-her-husband\">Meet Demi and her husband<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Demi Engemann, 30, and her husband, Bret Engemann, 45, are stars of the all-new <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/hulu\">Hulu<\/a> series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The show features a group of influencers who rose to fame with their #momtok trend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Demi is one of the ladies, and moms, appearing in the series. She has one child from a previous relationship and is also step-mom to Bret&#8217;s two kids.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>OMG:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/shows\/the-secret-lives-of-mormon-wives-mikayla-matthews-battled-chronic-illness-during-filming\">Secret Lives of Mormon Wives\u2019 star battled \u2018chronic illness\u2019 during filming<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Per <a href=\"https:\/\/decider.com\/2024\/09\/05\/secret-lives-mormon-wives-star-demi-engemann-husband-married-rhoslc-star-utah-very-small\/?utm_source=twitter&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=decider\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Decider<\/a>, Bret was previously married to <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/the-real-housewives-of-salt-lake-city\">The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City<\/a>&#8216;s Angie Harrington.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The two share two sons. After getting divorced, Angie joined RHOSLC as a guest for seasons 1 and 2 and as a friend of the cast for season 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sltrib.com\/artsliving\/2023\/02\/03\/splitting-up-with-byu-qb\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Salt Lake Tribune<\/a> last year, Angie said the divorce put her in good stead for reality TV fame:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019ve learned not to care what people think&#8230; I had a very public divorce in Utah Valley. And my ex-husband was kind of the golden boy of Provo. So that prepared me for reality television.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-demi-explains-how-she-and-bret-met\">Demi explains how she and Bret met<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Taking to <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/tiktok\">TikTok<\/a> last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@demilucymay_\/video\/7195985592457448747\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Demi says<\/a> the couple&#8217;s relationship was shrouded in &#8220;controversy,&#8221; as she explains how she and Bret met.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She tells her followers: &#8220;My husband and I are 16 years apart, I knew him through a family friend growing up.
