The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives\u2019 Mikayla Matthews, 24, is sharing what fans “didn’t see on the show” this fall. The all-new Hulu series arrived on September 6. The reality star says she was “fighting for her life” during filming and jokes it wasn’t just due to being surrounded by “crazy women.” She explains how she’s been dealing with a chronic illness.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Judging by viewers’ tweets on X (Twitter<\/a>), the Hulu<\/a> show has people hooked. It’s no wonder as the series is focused around a scandal involving a group of mom-fluencers who have huge success on social media. The ladies are already famous online, but filming the first season of the reality show came with some hurdles for Mikayla.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n

Mikayla Matthews battles chronic illness<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Taking to Instagram<\/a> days after The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ release, Mikayla Matthews opens up about a chronic illness she battles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mikayla shares a slider of images showing herself during scenes of season 1, as well as many of her condition, and some of herself in the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She writes: “What you didn\u2019t see on the show. Showing up for filming the whole first season was not only physically exhausting but extremely mentally challenging and watching the show it\u2019s very obvious I was fighting for my life, not only cause I\u2019m surrounding by crazy women lol but because I was really really struggling.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
