Deal or No Deal Island winner David Genat has revealed he still hasn’t received a single penny of his $5.8 million fortune he won from the show.<\/p>\n

He told Entertainment Weekly<\/a> that whilst he doesn’t have the money yet, he’s already started spending it, despite none of it being in his account yet.<\/p>\n

And while I’d be pretty keen to get that Deal or No Deal Island money in my bank account, it seems David Genat has a more relaxed approach.<\/p>\n

He explained: “I actually haven’t asked that question yet. I remember just after everything happened, someone came and shoved a contract in my face and they were like, \u2018So you need to sign this to facilitate getting the money.\u2019<\/p>\n

“And I was like, \u2018Okay, let me just have a little read here.\u2019 And at the top it was like, \u2018We such and such declare we will sign over the value of $5.8 million to the assigned.\u2019 And I was signing my name on that line. It was heavy.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for what his grand plans for when he finally receives the hefty prize money, he told news.com.au<\/a> that his plans are admittedly “boring” for it.<\/p>\n

He revealed: “I\u2019m going to invest most of it right now. If I put that in a savings account in the US, I\u2019m making $300,000 a year.<\/p>\n

“There\u2019s so much stuff I\u2019m going to do in terms of making sure I protect it, because I\u2019ve never had a consistent pay cheque, I\u2019ve been in entertainment 25 years in the fashion and entertainment business.<\/p>\n

“So I\u2019ve been bouncing around between projects, having to win these shows to provide for my family.”<\/p>\n

He added: “And there\u2019s just been so much financial stress all the time, so to be able to go \u2018I never have to work again if I don\u2019t want\u2019 is pretty much ultimate freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n
