Some head into the villa with a wealth of dating know-how, while other Islanders have been single their whole lives. A recent study shows how many of the dating show stars are actually overqualified for their roles as they boast degrees from some of the UK&#8217;s top universities.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&#8217;s safe to say any casting team is looking for some kind of star quality in potential <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/love-island\">Love Island<\/a> stars. Reality Tidbit even sat down with a casting director who shared <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/news\/casting-directors-top-tips-to-get-on-reality-tv-memorize-perfect-candidate-formula\">her top tips to get on reality TV<\/a>. The Islanders ooze charm, sass, and a whole lot of glam. But, it turns out they&#8217;re not all just pretty faces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-love-island-stars-and-their-degrees\">Love Island stars and their degrees<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Models, VIP Hosts, account managers, dancers, semi-pro football players, hair stylists, makeup artists, office administrators, and entrepreneurs all walked through the villa doors this June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Islanders are single and ready to meet their match in Mallorca this summer &#8211; and they&#8217;re putting their best personalities forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But, it turns out there&#8217;s a lot more under the hood of a lot of the show&#8217;s contestants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>OMG:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/shows\/old-pics-of-love-islands-harriett-unrecognizable-as-fans-wouldnt-know-its-same-person\">Old pics of Harriett \u2018unrecognizable\u2019 as fans \u2018wouldn\u2019t know it\u2019s same person\u2019<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These guys can do more than look incredible and shout the words: &#8220;I&#8217;ve got a text.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A recent study by <a href=\"https:\/\/usw2.nyl.as\/t1\/292\/3wfi1b0e09ww6ius98np01n72\/0\/cdd2e80f18c1c8f8f603f8c41218ecc14daef1fc195c503eea963705da455b71\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/usw2.nyl.as\/t1\/292\/3wfi1b0e09ww6ius98np01n72\/1\/94dd261bef2027526d0f76fab09eb3ff5b8db5e0ce2e1cba17c042d425066e0e\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">StuRents<\/a>&nbsp;analysed all 269 Love Island contestants from seasons 1 to 11 and the total number that went to university to reveal the most common degrees and institutions attended by the show\u2019s stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The girls spy on the boys! | Love Island Series 11\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Dxe5OfGe4ow?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-science-degrees-for-the-win\">Science degrees for the win<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The StuRents study reveals the majority of UK Love Island stars from series 1 to 11 gained degrees in science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They&#8217;re closely followed by those who studied business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Series 11&#8217;s Mimii Ngulube is a mental health nurse who studied nursing and psychology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More stars who have a science-based degree include series 3&#8217;s Camilla Thurlow who studied exercise science and series 4&#8217;s Dr Alex George who holds a degree in medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Series 5 stars Yewande Biala, Anna Vakili, and Michael Griffiths, all have science qualifications in Biotechnology, Pharmacy, and Biomedical Science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Series 6&#8217;s Ollie Williams graduated with a degree in Criminology, Nas Majeed studied sports science, and Jordan Waobikeze studied molecular biology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Repping the science accumen for series 7 was Kaz Kamwi with her Sociology degree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And series 8 stars Paige Thorne and Dami Hope also both have degrees under their belts.
