Instagram, job, age and more!<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>What happened in episode 1?<\/h3>\n<p>Episode 1 saw the forming of five initial couples while Kyra Green was thrown in as a single Bombshell contestant and will pick her man in episode 2.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Caroline \u2018Caro\u2019 Viehweg and Cashel Barnett (team c&amp;c)<\/li>\n<li>Alana Morrison and Yamen Sanders<\/li>\n<li>Elizabeth Weber and Zac Mirabelli<\/li>\n<li>Alexandra Stewart and Michael Yi<\/li>\n<li>Mallory Santic and Weston Richey<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The episode also saw 21-year-old stdunet Alana coin the phrase &#8216;situationship&#8217;. The brunette stunner from New Haven, Connecticut, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I&#8217;ve never had a proper relationship. I&#8217;ve been in situationships but never an actual relationship.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h3>Love Island USA: &#8216;Situationship&#8217; &#8211; what does it mean?<\/h3>\n<p>At first glance, the phrase &#8216;situationship&#8217; looks pretty confusing. But after some help from Urban Dictionary, everything makes a bit more sense.<\/p>\n<p>Whereas in the UK we would opt for the term &#8216;friends with benefits&#8217;, over in the USA they&#8217;ve got &#8216;situationships&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>According to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.urbandictionary.com\/define.php?term=Situationship\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Urban Dictionary<\/span><\/a>, the phrase means the following: &#8220;A relationship\u00a0that has\u00a0no label on it&#8230; like a friendship but more than a friendship but not quite a relationship.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Another <a href=\"http:\/\/aidanneal.com\/2014\/08\/06\/9-signs-youre-situationship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">site<\/span><\/a> suggested that a situationship is &#8220;basically a pseudo-relationship&#8221; the main thing making it different from a real relationship is the fact there the relationship hasn&#8217;t got a &#8216;label&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>We&#8217;d sum up a situationship as a casual sexual relationship &#8211; with or without feelings &#8211; that&#8217;s gone on a fair while. And there&#8217;s even been a song written about them.
