Now, former Idol winner and accomplished music artist Fantasia, 39, thinks she can fill the California Girls singer&#8217;s shoes. But, fans have all kinds of ideas for Katy&#8217;s &#8220;replacement.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Since <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/american-idol\">American Idol<\/a> season 16, <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/katy-perry\">Katy Perry<\/a> has been on the judging panel alongside <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/lionel-richie\">Lionel Richie<\/a> and Luke Bryan. Who better to guide budding musical maestros through the process than the award-winning songstress than Katy? It&#8217;s connected me with the heart of America, but i feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse to my own beat, you know what I&#8217;m saying, Jimmy?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few months down the line showstopping singer Fantasia is being asked if she&#8217;d consider being on the judging panel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>OMG:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/shows\/american-idols-luke-bryan-takes-tumble-on-stage-jokes-lawyer-will-be-calling\">American Idol\u2019s Luke Bryan takes tumble on stage \u2013 jokes \u2018lawyer will be calling\u2019<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking like a &#8220;vision&#8221; at the Time 100 Gala, 20 years on from winning American Idol, Fantasia said how she&#8217;s realized many dreams she&#8217;s had in her life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking exclusively to ET this April, Fantasia <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/fantasia-barrino-on-if-shed-want-to-replace-katy-perry-on-american-idol-exclusive-224189?amp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">said<\/a>: &#8220;I&#8217;m going to be honest. I would love to. I think that those kids when they&#8217;re coming into the game, I think that they need somebody to come in and not only show them how to sing a song but how to handle the business because it&#8217;s a lot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;So, just having somebody to say make sure you have this, make sure you have that. Getting to know them, their upbringing&#8230; I would love to do it.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-fans-have-other-ideas\">Fans have other ideas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Since Fantasia was asked whether she&#8217;d consider &#8220;replacing&#8221; Katy on Idol, fans are taking to a Reddit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/americanidol\/comments\/1cdrau5\/fantasia_barrino_would_love_to_replace_katy_perry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">thread<\/a> in full force to share their thoughts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many fans of the singer are keen to see her take the role, writing: &#8220;Fantasia would be amazing to see as a judge. One of my favorite winners &amp; the best finale performance ever. She has had so many incredible post-Idol moments.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, some aren&#8217;t sure she&#8217;s the &#8220;right fit.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More are calling for a return of Paula Abdul to the panel. Many were in agreement with the idea, commenting: &#8220;YES PLEASE.
