The cast is putting their lives on the line to investigate corruption within the prison system under the command of Sherif Paula Dance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the cast spends time behind bars, 60 Days In is still a reality show so how scripted is the <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/a-and-e\">A&amp;E<\/a> crime program? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>MORE<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/usa-reality-tv\/60-days-in-2023-new-season-8-release-date-cast-and-where-is-it-filmed\">60 Days In 2023 \u2013 New season 8 release date, cast, and where is it filmed<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-is-60-days-real-or-fake\">Is 60 Days real or fake? <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>60 Days In producers have confirmed that the show is unscripted, but <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/netflix-reality-shows\/60-days-in-who-is-robert-holcomb-where-is-he-now\">season 1 cast member Robert Holcomb<\/a> alleges that it is cleverly edited to heighten the drama, which is expected from a reality show. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The show was real, but the editing was fake,&#8221; Holcomb <a href=\"https:\/\/radaronline.com\/exclusives\/2016\/09\/60-days-in-fakery-exposed-contestant-rob-holcomb-tells-all\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">told<\/a>&nbsp;Radar Online. &#8220;The inmates figured me out in two hours and they treated me like gold. They&nbsp;were the nicest group of people I had been around my entire life.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holcomb claimed inmates at Clark County Jail allowed him the use of their phone and computer time, magazines, and offered him drugs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 60 Days In star went as far as to say that inmates &#8220;treated me better than my big brother,&#8221; and alleged that A&amp;E cameras edited the show to make it look like he was in danger. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The show made inmates look like animals; in reality, they were kind human beings suffering from drug problems,&#8221; he explained. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Holcomb was selected for the premiere season as show creators believed he could give a fresh perspective as a teacher, but he disregarded the safety training upon stepping foot into the cell. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He was punished with one month in solitary confinement for covering a security camera with a towel to impress inmates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> <strong>READ<\/strong>: <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/meet-the-cast\/60-days-in-2023-cast-and-why-they-joined-season-8-program\">60 Days In 2023 cast and why they joined season 8 program<\/a> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Real season 1 inmate denies show&#8217;s authenticity<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Holcomb&#8217;s account is corroborated by real season 1 inmate DiAundr\u00e9 Newby, who befriended Robert while others targeted him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Newby was told that A&amp;E was documenting Holcomb&#8217;s experience as a first-time inmate, but he was quickly suspicious after Robert reportedly asked if the jail aired NFL. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key season 1 highlight was the moment DiAundr\u00e9 was suddenly attacked by another inmate. The show claimed that both Newby and the attacker were removed from the pod and suggested that he was a victim due to his friendship with Robert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>DiAundr\u00e9, however, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsandtribune.com\/news\/former-clark-county-jail-inmate-talks-days-in\/article_0cbf684a-fb76-11e5-bba1-57717d257958.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">clarifies<\/a> that the attack was retaliation after he initially assaulted the inmate for unpaid debts.
