Since the first episode of this series’ Celebrity Gogglebox, fans have been tuning in to see one fluffy little face – Roman and Matin Kemp’s dog, Iris. The pooch has not only been stealing fans hearts with her cuteness but also due to her tragic backstory as a rescue pup.<\/p>\n

The miniature poodle which has now been adopted by Martin Kemp and wife, Shirlie has quite a story of how she came to be the third addition to the Kemp’s sofa…<\/p>\n

What happened to Iris?<\/h3>\n

Iris is a female miniature poodle.<\/p>\n

Before being adopted by the Kemp family in September of 2020, Iris was born in China to be killed and sold in the meat markets along with many other dogs like her. <\/p>\n

Rushton Dog Rescue saved Iris and found her new forever home with Martin and Shirlie. @rushtondogrescue on Instagram shared posts of Iris alongside her new owners explaining her story, “She was in a very sad way, she had no hope. Iris was a survivor of the meat trade, all she had ever known was living in fear.”<\/p>\n

The Kemp family often post photos on social media of Iris enjoying her new journey in a happy and loving environment. Roman Kemp, when sharing the news of Iris’ arrival to his followers said, “my mum has always said to rescue dogs and get them into safe, loving homes.” Shirlie Kemp is now Rushton Dog Rescue’s Patron, with Iris also named as an ambassador. <\/p>\n

The other famous dogs of Celebrity Gogglebox<\/h3>\n

Throughout series three alone, viewers have seen several adorable dogs from miniature dachshunds to french bulldogs that can’t help but steal the limelight. <\/p>\n

Denise van Outen and partner, Eddie are often seen sharing the sofa with their two french bulldogs, Tilly and the newest addition from November 2020, Remy. In the seventh episode of the series, Eddie can be seen trying Tilly’s ‘dog ice cream’ as she patiently waits for her chance to eat it up. <\/p>\n

Loraine Kelly and her daughter, Rosie can always be seen cuddling up to Rosie’s miniature wire-haired dachshund, Ruby. Possibly the smallest of all the Gogglebox dogs, Ruby’s screen time is usually spent sleeping!<\/p>\n

Nick Grimshaw is also often seen with one of his dogs taking up a seat on the sofa. With the most unusual names of the Gogglebox dog family, pug, Stinky Blob, and bull terrier, Pig, are also one of the highlights of Nick’s Instagram featuring very regularly. <\/p>\n
