{"id":1024,"date":"2023-02-20T01:00:00","date_gmt":"2023-02-20T01:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/?p=241007"},"modified":"2025-02-07T17:04:01","modified_gmt":"2025-02-07T17:04:01","slug":"has-anyone-been-attacked-on-naked-and-afraid","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thetab.com\/realityshrine\/2023\/02\/20\/has-anyone-been-attacked-on-naked-and-afraid\/","title":{"rendered":"Has anyone been attacked on Naked and Afraid?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Naked and Afraid is back for season 15, and with all the danger contestants put themselves in, fans may be wondering if anyone has been attacked on the survival show. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The show is one of the tensest survival shows, where contestants are literally <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/naked-and-afraid\">Naked and Afraid <\/a>in the wild with no food, water, or shelter, and just as you&#8217;d expect in these circumstances, there have been a few close calls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We take a look into the deadliest attacks in the <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/discovery\">Discovery<\/a> Show&#8217;s history. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>WOW: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/usa-reality-tv\/the-wild-twins-on-naked-and-afraid-are-still-exploring-the-world\">The Wild Twins on Naked and Afraid are still exploring the world<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Has anyone been attacked on Naked and Afraid?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes, contestants and a producer have been attacked by reptiles and insects on Naked and Afraid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The most dangerous to date was in 2013, and it wasn&#8217;t even a contestant but in fact a producer, Steve Rankin. Steve was bitten by a pit viper in Costa Rica while checking out the premises ahead of the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to Discovery he <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/NWQtErxFI-c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">said<\/a>: &#8220;It was a sharp pain like being stabbed, but the real pain started after when the venom started to spread up my leg.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Luckily, he could get to the hospital by helicopter before it spread, but he revealed he had to have five surgeries on his leg. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another close call was when contestant Manu Toigo&nbsp;contracted dengue fever after being bitten by mosquitos, dengue hemorrhagic fever to be precise. Luckily, she made a full recovery. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contestants on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=fC1speWfWmc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Naked and Afraid XL<\/a> described the pain of being attacked by mosquitoes as &#8220;the worst night of their lives.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although a mosquito attack may not sound as scary, these insect bites can be dangerous. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"&quot;The Worst Night Of My Life&quot; Survivalists Writhe In Pain From Mosquito Attack | Naked And Afraid XL\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/fC1speWfWmc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-has-anyone-died-on-naked-and-afraid\">Has anyone died on Naked and Afraid?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Thankfully, <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/whats-on\/has-anyone-ever-died-on-naked-and-afraid\">no one has died<\/a> on Naked and Afraid, although there may have been some close calls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although, there has been one &#8216;fake death&#8217; on the show. In season 3, Honora Bowen reportedly almost died, however, it was later revealed that she pretended to pass out to leave the show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She allegedly asked to leave the show due to bladder issues, but a producer convinced her to keep going leading to her faking going into a catatonic state so she&#8217;d get sent to the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>MORE: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/usa-reality-tv\/naked-and-afraids-afften-deshazer-is-building-a-cv-more-suited-to-selling-sunset\">Naked and Afraid\u2019s Afften Deshazer is building a CV more suited to Selling Sunset<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&nbsp;Season 15 contestant has already had a serious injury<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If the trailer of the show is anything to go by, this season of the show is going to be intense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Episode 1 contestant, <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/usa-reality-tv\/naked-and-afraids-sam-mouzer-had-a-serious-injury-on-season-15\">Sam Mouzer <\/a>received a unique injury to his &#8220;little soldier.&#8221;
