The billionaire says most of his successes in life came down to &#8220;luck.&#8221; He&#8217;s sharing his secrets this December, as well as the eight rules he follows in life as a whole. He&#8217;s talking parenting, business moves, and more.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mark Cuban is best known for being an investor on <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/tag\/shark-tank\">Shark Tank<\/a>. He&#8217;s built a billion-dollar fortune during his life. And, it&#8217;s taken hard work to get there. Mark clearly had a knack for entrepreneurship as he began a foray into the field at the age of 12. But, Mark Cuban is shedding some light on what it takes to get there in an exclusive interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/mark-cuban-is-not-a-big-spender-but-splurged-on-this-when-he-first-made-money-exclusive-8757841\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">People<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This December, he shares how he started out making money in the IT realm.<\/p>\n<p>Mark says he was &#8220;born at the right time,&#8221; as he was the perfect age to begin AudioNet, which he later sold after being turned into the first streaming company.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"inline-links\">\n<li><svg width=\"20\" height=\"20\"><use href=\"#list-arrow-svg\"><\/use><\/svg><strong>VIRAL:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/realitytvshrine.com\/shows\/shark-tank-stars-cup-a-bug-who-went-viral-now-prepping-for-major-international-moves\">Cup a Bug now prepping for major international moves<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>He sold the business after a few evolutions for $5.7 billion.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-he-says-luck-played-a-big-part\">He says &#8216;luck&#8217; played a big part<\/h2>\n<p>While Mark admits &#8220;hard work&#8221; did go into what&#8217;s made him so successful, he does say a lot of it was &#8220;luck.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;That was luck \u2014 being able to do all the work and learn how all the technology worked, that was work. The other half though, I had no control over,&#8221; he explains.<\/p>\n<p>Sharing his knowledge, Mark adds: &#8220;Life is half random.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The Shark Tank star continues: &#8220;It&#8217;s what you do with the half you can control that really sets a tone for your entire life.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>He adds that it doesn&#8217;t matter how many times you &#8220;fail&#8221; in the business world, &#8220;you only have to be right once&#8221; and he adds how then, &#8220;everyone will say you were an overnight success.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mark delves into how his &#8220;splurging&#8221; days are over. When he first began making riches, he said he was splashing the cash on &#8220;houses and planes.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But, now he and his wife, Tiffany Stewart, have reeled it in.
