The cheaper ad-supported option has also gone up, albeit by a much smaller amount, from $11.99 to $12.49.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Some bundles are more expensive too, although it\u2019s still half as much as it would cost if you subscribed to both separately. The Disney+ and Hulu bundle without ads has gone from $19.99 to $21.99 per month, while the ad-supported version remains at $12.99.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Is this the largest price hike in the world? Absolutely not. But this is now the sixth increase of its ad-free plan since 2021. The equivalent plan is now $21.49 &#8211; more than three times the original price.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, Disney\u2019s streaming services are far from the only ones that have bumped up their costs in recent years. Hell, there\u2019s even a Black Mirror episode satirising the \u201cStreamflation\u201d movement.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But this latest increase appears to have been the final straw for some Disney+ subscribers.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Disney+ subscribers are cancelling after the latest price hike<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over on X, a history of the price hikes has been circulating amid this latest announcement. In response, one person wrote, \u201cJust cancelled my Disney+, lemme see what else I need to take off the list!\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Price history of standard (ad-free) streaming plans, since launch: <\/p>\n<p>Netflix (2010)<br \/>\u2022 $7.99 &#8211;&gt; $19.99 (+150%)<br \/>\u2022 Increases in 3 of last 5 years<\/p>\n<p>Hulu (2015)<br \/>\u2022 $11.99 &#8211;&gt; $21.49 (+80%)<br \/>\u2022 Increases in 4 of last 5 years<\/p>\n<p>Apple TV (2019)<br \/>\u2022 $4.99 &#8211;&gt; $14.99 (+200%)<br \/>\u2022 Increases\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/SeVUJOCIeC\">pic.twitter.com\/SeVUJOCIeC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Morning Brew \u2615\ufe0f (@MorningBrew) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MorningBrew\/status\/2102797761485619636?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 23, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Another said, \u201cGas is high, beef is high, interest rates are high, rent and mortgages are high. Now Disney plus is going up. CANCELLED.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Plenty of people said they already cancelled their subscription some time ago, while urging others to do the same.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s time we all cancelled Disney+ <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/filmshrine\/tag\/netflix\/\">Netflix<\/a> etc and watch those prices come crashing back down or see some incredible deals,\u201d said one, while another commented, \u201cCANCEL DISNEY PLUS ALREADY IF YOU HAVEN&#8217;T ALREADY. GEEZ.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A third added, \u201cWhen will people learn to cancel. If you don\u2019t cancel, they will keep doing this cause they think you don\u2019t care. Cancel your subscription and pay for physical media. One time payment and you never pay again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over on Reddit, the conversation is much the same. One former subscriber even said<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&nbsp;they have cancelled after seven years with the app.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI&#8217;ve been a subscriber since I was last a student. When Disney+ first came out it cost me ~$12 a month to bundle Hulu, ESPN, and Spotify. It was great,\u201d they explained.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"reddit-embed-bq\" style=\"height:316px\" ><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/DisneyPlus\/comments\/1wjrgpw\/just_cancelled_after_7_years_price_and_ads_value\/\">Just Cancelled After 7 Years (price and ads &gt; value)<\/a><br \/> by<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/user\/CreLoxSwag\/\">u\/CreLoxSwag<\/a> in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/DisneyPlus\/\">DisneyPlus<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/embed.reddit.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"UTF-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHowever, over time Disney has dropped Spotify. They&#8217;ve added ads even though I&#8217;m paying. They&#8217;ve reduced the access I get on ESPN. They&#8217;ve also hiked the price twice in the past year. For what? Literally nothing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIn taking inventory of the streaming services I use, I realized I only really use this for ESPN. I&#8217;d rather spend my $ supporting a local business for games I can&#8217;t get OTA. So after 7 years I&#8217;m saying goodbye to Disney+. So long and thanks for all the childhood memories!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s currently unclear just how many people have dropped out since the latest announcement.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Disney has defended its pricing changes, with a spokesperson telling <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.techradar.com\/streaming\/disney-plus\/the-cost-of-disney-and-hulu-is-going-up-again-but-disney-argues-we-are-preserving-a-high-value-option-for-subscribers-as-it-freezes-the-price-on-three-of-its-streaming-bundles\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">TechRadar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, \u201cWhile competitors have raised prices by an average of 13% this year, we are keeping the price of our most popular bundle unchanged and have increased our standalone ad-supported offerings by just 4%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe continue to significantly invest in enhancements to Disney+ &#8211; new technology, features, and personalization. These improvements continue to strengthen the value we deliver to subscribers and will culminate in the one app experience later this year.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight:
