Despite starring in the year’s biggest cinema flicks, which some might argue is a reward in of itself, Celebrities<\/a> ranging from Josh Brolin to Selena Gomez have reacted to being snubbed in the Oscar nominations.<\/p>\n

After being put off because of the LA wildfires<\/a>, the Oscar nominations were officially announced on Thursday with the ceremony itself taking place on March 3. Emilia P\u00e9rez broke record<\/a>s with 13 nominations, Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet became one of the youngest people to be nominated twice under 30 years old, and Wicked<\/a> once again defied gravity with nominations<\/a> in 10 different categories.<\/p>\n

But despite the obvious wins – which also included Demi Moore getting her first nomination – some celebs found their work snubbed by The Academy. Here’s what they said.<\/p>\n

1. Josh Brolin<\/h2>\n

You might remember that last year Josh Brolin claimed he would “quit acting” if Dune director Denis Villeneuve was snubbed at the 2025 Oscars after missing out on a nomination for the first film.<\/p>\n

Well, Dune 2 did receive Oscar nominations this year but Denis was not among the nominated directors that included The Brutalist’s Brady Corbet, Emilia P\u00e9rez’s Jacques Audiard, Anora’s Sean Baker, The Substance’s Coralie Fargeat and A Complete Unknown’s James Mangold.<\/p>\n

“Apparently, I am going to quit acting because Denis Villeneuve didn’t get nominated,’ he said on Instagram. “This is just how this thing works. It makes no sense to me. That’s okay.”<\/p>\n

Despite being angry at the Denis Villeneuve snub, he did congratulate the rest of the team on their nominations.<\/p>\n

2. Pamela Anderson<\/h2>\n
