This was a true historical event in post-Black Death England, which saw thousands of ordinary people rise up against the ruling elite following years of growing inequality and restrictions on workers. <\/span><\/p>\n

Notably, the poor were made to pay the same level of taxes as the rich. All of these elements led to a huge uprising, with rebels marching on London and directly challenging the power of the monarchy and ruling classes.<\/span><\/p>\n

In short, The Uprising tells a story about the huge divide between those with wealth and power and those without it, something Garfield compared to today. <\/span><\/p>\n
