Squid Game actor Lee Byung-hun, who goes by several aliases in the Netflix<\/a> show, has been a working actor for decades, appearing in everything from American blockbuster movies to Korean TV shows.<\/p>\n

Seong Gi-hun might be the main character of Squid Game<\/a>, but Lee Byung-hun has undoubtedly been the shining star of season two. He first appeared to us as The Front Man, the enigmatic overseer of the games, before being revealed as Hwang In-ho, the brother of detective Hwang Jun-ho. That family has some seriously good genes.<\/p>\n

Long before Byung-hun starred in Squid Game, he was working on action-packed projects across the world. I’m willing to bet you recognise him from at least a few of these projects.<\/p>\n

What movies has Lee Byung-hun been in?<\/h2>\n

\"Squid<\/p>\n

After years of racking up both praise and awards in Korea, Lee Byung-hun broke into the American film industry with his role in 2009’s G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra alongside Channing Tatum, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sienna Miller, Christopher Eccleston, and Marlon Wayans. He played the white ninja Storm Shadow, a role he later reprised in the G.I. Joe: Retaliation with Dwayne Johnson and Bruce Willis.<\/p>\n

Keeping with the action, he later appeared in the sequel to the 2010 action-comedy hit RED with huge names such as Bruce Willis, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Helen Mirren and John Malkovich.<\/p>\n

After working on a number of martial arts films, he returned to the States in 2015 to star in Terminator Genisys opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Emilia Clarke where he played a shapeshifting prototypical Terminator composed of mimetic poly-alloy.<\/p>\n

Just a year later in 2016, Lee Byung-hun lent his talents to The Magnificent Seven with Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, and Ethan Hawk.<\/p>\n

Though I’m betting you recognise him from the above Western films, there’s a reason he’s won so many awards in Korea. Should you truly want to experience his acting skills, you need to dip into five-star-rated projects such as Concrete Utopia, The Good, the Bad, the Weird, and The Age of Shadows.<\/p>\n
