Elliot Page has revealed he currently has no acting roles lined up following the huge success of Christopher Nolan\u2019s<\/a> The Odyssey, saying that it\u2019s become \u201ca little tricky\u201d for him to get cast.<\/span><\/p>\n

Page reunited with Nolan 16 years after appearing in Inception to play Sinon in The Odyssey<\/a>, joining a huge ensemble cast including Matt Damon, Anne Hathaway, Tom Holland, Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.<\/span><\/p>\n

But prior to its release, the film faced an ugly wave of right-wing backlash against its cast. There were false claims that Page had been cast as Achilles, which prompted transphobic abuse online<\/a>, while Lupita Nyong\u2019o was subjected to racist attacks over her casting as Helen of Troy.<\/span><\/p>\n

The backlash included US TV host Rob Finnerty deadnaming Page while falsely claiming he was playing Achilles. Elon Musk later joined the online pile-on, responding \u201cBanger\u201d to a post mocking Page.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite this hateful noise, The Odyssey<\/a> went on to become one of the biggest movie hits of 2026, with many praising Page\u2019s excellent performance. <\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking on Kevin McCarthy\u2019s On Film<\/a> podcast this week, Page said people regularly approach him to tell him how much the Hades scene affected them.<\/span><\/p>\n

But when McCarthy assumed Page must now be receiving \u201ca zillion calls\u201d following the movie\u2019s success, the actor immediately corrected him. \u201cNo, Kevin, I\u2019m not,\u201d he said, before confirming that he doesn\u2019t really have another project lined up.<\/span><\/p>\n

And it\u2019s not because he wants a break. \u201cNo, I\u2019d really love to do ideally good work. That\u2019s what I\u2019d love to do,\u201d he explained. <\/span><\/p>\n

Page then reflected on how he\u2019s in a place where he feels comfortable in himself and is ready to do his best work, contrasting that experience with some of his biggest roles before he transitioned.<\/span><\/p>\n

Looking back at playing Ariadne in Inception, Page stressed that he had \u201csuch a great time\u201d making the film, but added, \u201cI was also personally really uncomfortable.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

With Juno, he felt \u201ca bit more comfortable and embodied\u201d playing the character, but now that underlying discomfort is no longer something Page has to deal with when performing.<\/span><\/p>\n
