Beauty in Black makes it pretty clear that Horace is attracted to Angel, while also having a sexual relationship with Kimmie, so is he actually gay or bisexual?<\/p>\n

Horace Bellarie, played by Ricco Ross, has had a complicated relationship with his sexuality throughout the series. He admits that Angel, a dancer at the club, has caught his eye. At the same time, Horace is attracted to Kimmie and eventually has s*x with her.<\/p>\n

Basically, Beauty in Black<\/a> has given us evidence that Horace is attracted to both men and women, but it has never actually given him a label.<\/p>\n

So, is Horace gay or bisexual?<\/h2>\n

Ricco Ross has spoken about the storyline himself, and he was very open about wanting to take on a role like this. Speaking on the Effective Immediately podcast<\/a>, Ross explained that most of the roles he had been offered throughout his career had been similar types of characters because of his appearance and physicality.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs an artist, you wanna play something different. You wanna show that you have that range. I’ve wanted to play gay characters in the past,\u201d Ross said.<\/p>\n

For Ross, though, the important thing was that Horace’s attraction to Angel had to feel genuine. He explained, \u201cIf I’m gonna play a gay character, I’m gonna, if I’m gonna accept that role, I gotta make it work. I want that to be real for me. I want it to be real for the camera when they look in my eyes.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a separate interview with Men’s Journal<\/a>, Ross also said, “When you first meet him, you think that he is extremely homophobic. And later on, you find out that he is rather sexually curious himself… So, there\u2019s a lot of layers, and it\u2019s a very complex character.”<\/p>\n

So, based on what Ricco Ross has said, Horace might actually be bi-curious.<\/p>\n
