A new report suggests <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/filmshrine\/2026\/08\/12\/chris-evans-reveals-avengers-doomsday-is-brutal-for-steve-rogers-as-he-asks-whats-right\/\">Avengers: Doomsday<\/a> might finally pay off a loose end Marvel has been sitting on since 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everyone\u2019s been wondering if, when, and how Venom might enter the <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/filmshrine\/tag\/marvel\/\">MCU<\/a> ever since the infamous post-credits scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you recall, <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/filmshrine\/2026\/04\/24\/heres-the-problem-with-spider-man-villains-explained-after-that-viral-batman-tweet\/\">Eddie Brock and his alien symbiote<\/a> learn about the MCU\u2019s history before being sent back to their own universe by Doctor Strange\u2019s spell. But as the camera reveals, a tiny piece of the black symbiote is left behind.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Post Credits Scene | Spider-Man: No Way Home\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uJhL9FMbXE8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ever since then, there have been countless theories suggesting this alien goo will find a new host in the MCU, one of the leading being that it will latch onto <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/filmshrine\/2026\/08\/04\/what-peter-parker-does-for-work-and-how-he-affords-everything-in-spider-man-brand-new-day\/\">Tom Holland\u2019s Peter Parker<\/a> to form the black symbiote suit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This didn\u2019t happen in <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/filmshrine\/tag\/spider-man\/\">Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a>, but it <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">could<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> be a major reveal in the upcoming Avengers movies\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Avengers: Doomsday could finally revisit the Venom goo<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Notable Marvel insider Alex Perez was asked about this in his latest Q&amp;A for <a href=\"https:\/\/thecosmiccircus.com\/alexperez-aug2026qa2-spider-man-werewolf-by-night-x-men\/\">The Cosmic Circus<\/a>, with a Discord member writing, \u201cAfter seeing Brand New Day, I am satisfied that Peter Parker ended the film alive, with no symbiote, and on the road to recovery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThat being said, are the events of No Way Home and Brand New Day still crucial to the plot (and certain character arcs) of Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Perez\u2019s reply was short but interesting: \u201cYes. No Way Home more so than Spider-Man: Brand New Day, but yes.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_7712\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-7712\" style=\"width: 1200px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7712\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.filmshrine.com\/uploads\/2026\/08\/3-7.jpg\" alt=\"Spider-Man in Brand New Day\" width=\"1200\" height=\"630\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cdn.filmshrine.com\/uploads\/2026\/08\/3-7.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/cdn.filmshrine.com\/uploads\/2026\/08\/3-7-1024x538.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/cdn.filmshrine.com\/uploads\/2026\/08\/3-7-768x403.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-7712\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Credit: Sony Pictures<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, this is just an insider report for now, and Perez doesn\u2019t explicitly say what from No Way Home will carry over into the Avengers movies. But given where <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/filmshrine\/2026\/08\/06\/spider-man-brand-new-day-director-addresses-whether-ned-remembers-peter-and-im-hopeful\/\">Brand New Day<\/a> leaves Peter, it\u2019s hard not to look back at that still-unresolved piece of symbiote.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If the report is accurate, it could suggest Venom might finally enter the picture through Doomsday or Secret Wars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s actually an additional clue the story is headed this way in the <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/filmshrine\/2026\/07\/31\/spider-man-brand-new-day-post-credits-scene-theory-marvel-avengers-doomsday-secret-wars\/\">Brand New Day post-credits scene<\/a>. You see, Ned\u2019s Spider-Tracker searches for Peter across Earth before eventually locating him somewhere in deep space, seemingly setting up his involvement in Doomsday and Secret Wars.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And that location will no doubt be particularly interesting for comic readers. In the original 1984 Secret Wars, Peter damages his costume while on Battleworld and discovers what he believes is an advanced replacement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In reality, the black suit is a living alien symbiote, which Peter eventually rejects. It could instead take Peter off-world and begin the chain of events leading to his black suit in Secret Wars.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From there, rejecting the symbiote would leave Marvel with the perfect route to introduce its own version of Venom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of course, it might not play out exactly like this &#8211; or at all. But either way, that tiny blob of alien goo has been sitting around for five years now.
