Amid the release of the Wizards Beyond Waverly Place finale, original star David DeLuise has clapped back at the spinoff series after he was snubbed from the third and final season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Season three of the sequel series consisted of a four-episode finale event that aired on the Disney<\/a> Channel on Tuesday. Many of the original Wizards of Waverly Place stars returned, including Selena Gomez<\/a> as Alex Russo, David Henrie as Justin Russo, and Gregg Sulkin as Mason Greyback.<\/span><\/p>\n

But one notable absence was David DeLuise, who played Justin and Alex\u2019s father Jerry Russo and even reprised his role for a couple of episodes in season one.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s been much speculation about what went down, but DeLuise has now made his thoughts about the alleged snub known.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Tuesday, Entertainment Tonight posted a behind-the-scenes video in which Gomez and Henrie discuss the finale and the continuation of Wizards. DeLuise took to the comments section and wrote, \u201cIt would not be over if the OG wizards were really there. Missed opportunity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Alongside himself, Jake T. Austin didn\u2019t return to the spinoff series as Max Russo. In response to a fan comment over a year ago, Austin said, \u201cMax didn\u2019t get the invite,\u201d alongside a crying emoji.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
