It wouldn\u2019t be a Taylor Sheridan show without some drama. Dutton Ranch star Ed Harris feels he\u2019s been \u201cmisled\u201d by the series, so where does that leave season two?<\/span><\/p>\n

It wasn’t that long ago that the flagship Yellowstone<\/a> show was overshadowed by reports of creative tensions between Sheridan and lead star Kevin Costner, who ended up making an abrupt exit from the final season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

But that\u2019s been and gone, and Sheridan\u2019s neo-western TV universe continues to expand, with Kayce Dutton spinoff Marshals recently airing and prequel 1944 in development.<\/span><\/p>\n

More recently, we got the first season of Dutton Ranch<\/a>, which sees Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler as they ditch Montana for South Texas, only to find themselves dragged into fresh disputes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the show is based on characters Sheridan created, he\u2019s not involved in the writers\u2019 room, but that doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s been smooth sailing.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Dutton Ranch showrunner Chad Feehan was let go from the series<\/a>, meaning that while he\u2019s credited for season one, he won\u2019t continue for the second chapter.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sources told <\/span>Matthew Belloni<\/span><\/a> at the time that Feehan \u201cclashed on set with stars Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly<\/a> and other key players.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSheridan, producer David Glasser, and the stars weren\u2019t happy, so Feehan\u2019s out, and Sheridan and Glasser will likely elevate another season one writer to the showrunner gig,\u201d Belloni wrote.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Paramount has since renewed Dutton Ranch for season two, with Benjamin Cavell set to take over from Feehan as showrunner. But that might not be the end of the drama\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Is Ed Harris leaving Dutton Ranch?<\/h2>\n

No, as far as the latest reports go, Ed Harris isn\u2019t dropping out of Dutton Ranch. In fact, his character Everett McKinney is set to have a more significant role in season two.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The reason this question has come up is thanks to a new interview in which Harris said he felt \u201cmisled\u201d when it came to the importance of his role in the Yellowstone spinoff.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking to Variety, the actor explained, \u201cMidway through this first season, I was ready to say, \u2018Get me the f**k out of here,\u2019 to tell you the truth.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPrior to signing on for it, I was talked to quite a bit about what the season was, and what my character was going to do – and that I was one of the four main characters,\u201d he continued. \u201cAnd that wasn\u2019t really the case.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Harris even spoke to someone about the issue, although he didn\u2019t name who it was. \u201cI said, \u2018I\u2019m feeling underused and inconsequential,\u2019 and they kind of went, \u2018Oh,\u2019\u201d he explained.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Since he signed on for two seasons, that means he\u2019ll be back for another round. And it seems it may be a better experience for the Westworld star.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ed Harris says he felt \u201cmisled\u201d about his \u201cinconsequential\u201d role on \u201cDutton Ranch,\u201d and that halfway through filming Season 1, he was telling his team to \u201cget me the f— out of here.\u201d<\/p>\n
