Cara Delevingne has revealed Harvey Weinstein warned her not to come out, and says Amber Heard later told her she got the exact same advice.<\/p>\n

The model and actress appeared on The Louis Theroux Podcast<\/a>, where she spoke about being discouraged from publicly dating women early in her acting career. During the conversation, Cara also finally confirmed years of rumours that she and Amber Heard had been romantically involved.<\/p>\n

Cara explained that disgraced former film producer Harvey Weinstein contacted her after seeing paparazzi pictures of her with women.<\/p>\n

She recalled: \u201cHarvey Weinstein called me up and said, \u2018Are you gay?\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Um, what do you mean?\u2019 And he was like, \u2018You should never be in a relationship with a woman.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Cara, the call came after Weinstein had seen \u201cpaparazzi photos of me with women\u201d.<\/p>\n

She added that he warned her: \u201cYou\u2019ll never make it in the industry if people think you\u2019re gay.\u201d Looking back, she admitted: \u201cI really believed him, and I really took that to heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

But that wasn\u2019t the end of it.<\/p>\n

Later in the interview, Cara finally addressed years of speculation about her relationship with Amber Heard. Louis Theroux asked whether reports they had a \u201crelatively short-lived liaison or a series of physical encounters\u201d were accurate.<\/p>\n

Cara replied: \u201cWe were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, yeah, we were entangled, I suppose. But she was also entangled with other people.\u201d<\/p>\n

The relationship had been rumoured for years but neither of them had publicly confirmed it until now.<\/p>\n

Speaking about Amber, Cara explained that after they got together, she discovered the actress had been given the same warning about her sexuality.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe had exactly the same thing,\u201d Cara said, referring to Weinstein’s comments about dating women publicly.<\/p>\n

Amber has previously spoken about the pressure she faced after coming out as bisexual. Although she publicly acknowledged her relationship with photographer Tasya van Ree in 2010, she later claimed people in Hollywood warned her it would damage her career.<\/p>\n

Speaking previously, Amber said she was advised to keep her sexuality private because it could hurt her chances of landing major film roles.<\/p>\n
