Actress Amy Adams has explained how skills she learned in preparation for a role in CBS’s Dr Vegas helped her save the life of a knife attack victim.<\/p>\n

More than 20 years ago, Amy Adams<\/a> got a role as Alice Doherty in CBS’s doomed show Dr Vegas<\/a>. It was one of her earliest TV roles, and to get into character, she learned basic medical skills. Unfortunately, the show was cancelled shortly after its premiere, but those skills didn’t go to waste.<\/p>\n

In an interview on the Smartless podcast, Amy Adams opened up about the moment she saved a victim’s life, though<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve come across a couple of scenes where we\u2019ve been sort of the first people on the scene,\u201d she said. \u201cWe were in Santa Monica and coming out of our favourite restaurant, and I was with my dad, and these people were screaming and a guy was walking, and they\u2019re yelling, \u2018He\u2019s dying!\u2019 and my husband\u2019s like, \u2018That\u2019s blood.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cWe ran over, and he\u2019d been stabbed in the neck,\u201d the Enchanted actress recalled. \u201cSo he was bleeding, and his friends were freaking out. So luckily, we were going to the beach. We grabbed towels. My dad has been on lots of scenes \u2014 I guess he attracts them as well \u2014 and applied pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amy wasn’t present for the actual stabbing and wasn’t sure how the man got his injuries.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, as far as I could make out, they had run into an old college friend and had some drinks and then went to the liquor store. They were going to go back to someone\u2019s house, and he just freaked out. I don\u2019t know kind of what the whole story is,” she explained.<\/p>\n

The actress then revealed that a year after the incident, she had a chance encounter with the same man while out in public.<\/p>\n

A guy walks up to me\u2026 He\u2019s like, \u2018I heard a story that you and your dad were on the scene of a guy getting stabbed,\u2019\u201d she remembered. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018Oh my God, it\u2019s you.\u2019 And it was him.\u201d<\/p>\n
