Sydney Sweeney<\/a> has bluntly dragged Hollywood for being full of what she deems to be pretenders – people tearing women down under the guise of building them up in a symphony of fake empowerment. She claims the attitude of women empowering women is simply a facade, and says things need to change.<\/p>\n

In a new issue of Vanity Fair Hollywood<\/a> for 2025, Sydney Sweeney did not mince her words in what she deems to be a false pretence of empowerment. \u201cIt\u2019s very disheartening to see women tear other women down,\u201d she said in the interview, published Nov. 13. \u201cEspecially when women who are successful in other avenues of their industry see younger talent working really hard \u2014 hoping to achieve whatever dreams that they may have \u2014 and then trying to bash and discredit any work that they\u2019ve done.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis entire industry, all people say is \u2018Women empowering other women.\u2019 None of it\u2019s happening,\u201d Sweeney continued. \u201cAll of it is fake and a front for all the other s— that they say behind everyone\u2019s back.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sydney Sweeney says this fake Hollywood empowerment has been going on for years and can be traced back to multiple sources.<\/p>\n

\u201cI mean, there\u2019s so many studies and different opinions on the reasoning behind it. I\u2019ve read that our entire lives, we were raised \u2014 and it\u2019s a generational problem \u2014 to believe only one woman can be at the top. There\u2019s one woman who can get the man. There\u2019s one woman who can be, I don\u2019t know, anything. So then all the others feel like they have to fight each other or take that one woman down instead of being like, Let\u2019s all lift each other up.\u201d<\/p>\n

It’s refreshing to hear someone so big in the industry call out hypocrisies where she sees them rather than just echo meaningless positivity – if she deems it to not be if any worthwhile effect. Queen behaviour.<\/p>\n
