For years, we&#8217;ve laughed, cried and embarrassed ourselves with her, solidifying her status as one of the most relatable comfort characters from a <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/2024\/09\/30\/nobody-wants-this-heres-cast-of-the-steamy-netflix-show-before\">romcom<\/a>. Ren\u00e9e Zellweger, Hugh Grant and Emma Thompson are returning to the franchise for the fourth film, with Chiwetel Ejiofor and One Day&#8217;s Leo Woodall making appearances too. Hugh will be back in his iconic role as Daniel Cleaver, and I can&#8217;t WAIT to see how that plays out.<\/p>\n<h2>It&#8217;s going to be a sad one<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_404787\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-404787\" style=\"width: 1920px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-374\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.filmshrine.com\/uploads\/2024\/11\/VS-YouTube-BridgetJonesMadAbouttheBoyOfficialTrailer-212-e1731501657698.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1920\" height=\"793\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-404787\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">via YouTube<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to the cast, the fourth Bridget Jones film is going to be a tear-jerker with a &#8220;moving script.&#8221; Hugh Grant said on The Graham Norton Show: \u201cAs well as being extremely funny, it&#8217;s very, very sad.\u201d Bring the tissues!<\/p>\n<h2>Mark Darcy is sadly dead<\/h2>\n<p>I audibly gasped when I saw that Mark Darcy would be dead in the fourth film. We don&#8217;t know heaps about the plot yet, but we do know what happens in the book version which was released in 2013. In the novel, Bridget is a 51 year old widow after Mark Darcy dies (hence Colin Firth is not returning). The story follows her adapting to the modern world of technology and raising two small kids on her own.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the trailer it&#8217;s likely it&#8217;ll be very similar, but Bridget Jones&#8217;s Baby changed a lot from its original novel, so who knows!
