Anora<\/a>, the Palme D’or winning film from Sean Baker that is highly acclaimed and set to sweep awards season, would be nowhere near as perfect without the iconic soundtrack. The needle drops in this film are utterly euphoric, and from the moment the film kicks off with a crappy remix of a Take That classic – you know you’re in for something special. The film is so good that by the tike it reuses the Take That song, it will likely be the only movie good enough to make you actually emotional at the sound of Gary Barlow. The songs that make up the Anora soundtrack are an integral part of what makes it the film of the year. At least in my opinion.<\/p>\n

The Anora film soundtrack uses songs to soundtrack the story of Anora, a stripper who gets involved with the son of a very rich Russian oligarch – and the madness that ensues. Mikey Madison, who plays Anora, says she wasn\u2019t familiar with\u201d Take That\u2019s music, but said \u201cI think it\u2019s such a catchy tune, and it works really well for the opening\u201d. She also said that her mates made her a “stripper” playlist to get her into role. Iconic.<\/p>\n

Sean Baker also explained how he settled on Greatest Day, saying “I was driving around with my wife Sam and we were just like, ‘Is there a song called Greatest Day, because it\u2019s [Ani\u2019s] greatest day?’<\/p>\n

“I had never heard of this song, so we put it on in the car and the next thing you know it had become a total ear worm. So I got home and threw it over Anora’s opening credits, and it was like serendipity\u2026 the way it went up to Mikey and landed there, right when the kick comes in, it was like, ‘Oh my God!’ And then she goes on Spotify and finds Greatest Day.”<\/p>\n
