We finally get the fourth film in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man series this summer, and there’s a huge hint he might not make it to the end of the credits.<\/p>\n

It’s been 10 years since we were first graced with Tom Holland’s<\/a> Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Since then, he’s appeared in six other Marvel films, including three Spider-Man additions. It was unclear whether there’d be a fourth after the cliffhanger ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home, but thankfully, we can watch Brand New Day at the end of July 2026.<\/p>\n

Filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton, who has directed several other Marvel films and is behind Brand New Day, gave a cryptic response when Deadline<\/a> asked whether this was the last Spider-Man<\/a> film.<\/p>\n

\u201cIs there ever a last Spider-Man?\u201d Destin said. \u201cEveryone should go to this (movie) as if it\u2019s the last Spider-Man.\u201d<\/p>\n

Uh oh. Additionally, people have noticed that Tom Holland isn’t in the cast list for the next big Avengers film, Avengers: Doomsday. While Marvel does things like this to keep things ambitious and avoid spoiling upcoming films, it’s hard to ignore what this could mean.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Esquire<\/a>, Tom Holland hinted about what we could expect from the new film.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis movie is a real mystery, and for a large portion of the film, even Spider-Man is a little bit at odds and lost and is like, \u2018What is going on?\u2019,” he said. “We\u2019re just trying to find ways to make this movie feel like a detective movie.\u201d<\/p>\n

Even if Tom Holland’s Peter Parker doesn’t die in the new film, it’s safe to say this will be his last Spider-Man film. But Tom’s got his own pick of who would be the next best successor of the mask.<\/p>\n
