TV and comics writer Cody Ziglar has criticised the backlash aimed at Obsession art director Sally Choi, who called out the low pay rate<\/a> and working conditions on the set of 2026\u2019s breakout horror hit.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s no secret that Curry Barker\u2019s Obsession<\/a> has been on a generational run. The film has grossed nearly $239million at the global box office and was made on a shoestring budget of just $750,000.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sally sparked a major conversation online after claiming she earned $300 a day as art director on the film and had to wear \u201cmany, many hats\u201d due to the low-budget production, leading to health problems. \u201cThis came out to $6741.36 after taxes,\u201d she wrote. \u201cNo mileage.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Sally noted that the issue was bigger than Obsession<\/a> and its director, urging for other workers in the industry to start a discussion.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While many praised her for speaking out about conditions in the film industry<\/a>, others accused her of damaging her own career<\/a> by publicly criticising the experience.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, Cody Ziglar – who\u2019s written for TV shows such as Futurama, Rick and Morty, and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, and comics such as the Miles Morales: Spider-Man series – has jumped in to defend Sally.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
