Milly Alcock has already had to face scrutiny from trolls online after taking on the role of Supergirl, and now an actor who once played Superman has chimed in and responded to a cruel meme.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Alcock first cameoed as Kara Zor-El at the end of the DCU\u2019s Superman, and now we\u2019re just weeks away from Supergirl dropping in cinemas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The actress has previously spoken about the misogynistic comments she\u2019s received in this space, telling <\/span>Vanity Fair<\/span><\/a> that her role on House of the Dragon<\/a> prepared her for Supergirl.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt definitely made me aware that simply existing as a woman in that space is something that people comment on,\u201d she said. \u201cWe have become very comfortable having this weird ownership of women\u2019s bodies. I can\u2019t really stop them. I can only be myself.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In a more recent interview with <\/span>Variety<\/span><\/a>, Alock described how nasty comments<\/a> about her appearance often come from \u201cpeople whose profiles have no photo, who are burner accounts. Or someone\u2019s name and then \u2018Dad of four, Christian,\u2019 which is hilarious to me.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Although Milly\u2019s not fazed by it and is choosing to ignore the hate, her fans have jumped in to defend the DCU star after Dean Cain joined in on the insults.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cain responded to a post mocking Milly\u2019s appearance by comparing her to Chaka from the Land of the Lost. \u201cDang it\u2026 I laughed,\u201d he wrote.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
