Farm star Jake<\/a> for five years after they met on the set of Hulu\u2019s 2022 movie Sex Appeal.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The pair even got engaged last year, but this month, Mika\u2019s reps <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/filmshrine\/2026\/06\/02\/why-off-campus-fans-are-reigning-it-in-after-mika-abdalla-and-jake-short-confirm-breakup\/\">confirmed that they had broken up<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This is all in support of her &amp; I don\u2019t want to be parasocial but honestly thank god. Jake says he has \u201ctwo words\u201d to describe Mika, before declaring, \u201cSome b*tch.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Both Bradley and Natasha look horrified, and there\u2019s been significant backlash to the joke online, with comments calling it \u201cdisgusting\u201d and \u201cproblematic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">what a loser <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/hMalQhCZs2\">pic.twitter.com\/hMalQhCZs2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; nessa (@fcburkhart) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/fcburkhart\/status\/2063134439345885360?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 6, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jake and Mika shared a joint statement to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/news\/off-campus-mika-abdalla-jake-short-break-silence-after-split\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Us Weekly<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> shutting down the discourse, saying \u201cit\u2019s hurtful to see playful moments dissected in a way that does not reflect the respect and love we had and still have for each other.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alongside this, Jake apologised, writing \u201cI made a disrespectful, juvenile joke\u201d and \u201cit\u2019s imperative to me that I take accountability as I am aware that it was inappropriate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Again, this was presumably the end of the story, but now another clip from that same podcast is causing upset among the Off Campus fandom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The moment in question sees Jake and Mika describing how they first got together. Jake recalls how they had some \u201cvery intimate scenes\u201d in Sex Appeal, and so he suggested \u201cwe should just talk about\u201d it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But Mika quickly jumps in with her own version of events, saying, &#8220;He was like, \u2018Do you want to get together and rehearse?\u2019\u201d while pulling a face before bursting out laughing.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"tiktok-embed\" cite=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@useroffcampus\/video\/7648092601102437640\" data-video-id=\"7648092601102437640\" data-embed-from=\"oembed\" style=\"max-width:605px; min-width:325px;\">\n<section> <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"@useroffcampus\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@useroffcampus?refer=embed\">@useroffcampus<\/a> <\/p>\n<p><a title=\"mikaabdalla\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/mikaabdalla?refer=embed\">#mikaabdalla<\/a> <a title=\"jakeshort\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/jakeshort?refer=embed\">#jakeshort<\/a> <a title=\"fyp\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/tag\/fyp?refer=embed\">#fyp<\/a><\/p>\n<p> <a target=\"_blank\" title=\"\u266c som original - \u2764\ufe0f\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/music\/som-original-7648092662733523732?refer=embed\">\u266c som original &#8211; \u2764\ufe0f<\/a> <\/section>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/embed.js\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jake defends himself, insisting, \u201cI said, \u2018Go over the scenes,\u2019\u201d to which Mika fires back, \u201cWhat do you mean \u2018go over the scenes\u2019?\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trying to clarify, Jake explains that at the time they didn&#8217;t know exactly how the scenes would play out and wanted to discuss them beforehand.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But Mika doesn\u2019t let him off the hook that easily. &#8220;And then he brought over a bottle of wine to go over the sex scenes,&#8221; she jokes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;You&#8217;re kidding,&#8221; host Bradley responds, but Jake argues, \u201cWe were hanging out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Again, it\u2019s another lighthearted conversation, but the clip has left many fans shocked. \u201cThis is horrifying,\u201d wrote one in the comments, while another said, \u201cShe deserves better.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A third added, \u201cI\u2019m lost on why he thought that was a good idea.
