At long last, Kane Parsons\u2019 Backrooms has finally landed in cinemas, and while it doesn\u2019t have a post-credits scene in the traditional sense, there\u2019s still a reason to stay until the very end – especially if you\u2019re a fan of his YouTube shorts.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Backrooms is undoubtedly one of the best horror<\/a> sci-fi films in recent years, combining excellent cinematography, casting, and scriptwriting, all helmed by the 20-year-old who first created this creepy universe when he was a teen.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

You see, the Backrooms<\/a> started as a viral creepypasta on forums like 4Chan, describing a supposedly endless maze of yellowed office rooms entered by \u201cnoclipping\u201d out of reality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Kane took this concept and created an entirely new mythology with his eerie found-footage style shorts, which he made using Blender and began uploading in January 2022 under the YouTube name Kane Pixels<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In his world, the Backrooms are discovered by a megacorporation called ASync, who build an interdimensional portal called the \u201cThreshold\u201d using a Low Proximity Magnetic Distortion system.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s all very smart (and intensely creepy), and it didn\u2019t take long for the shorts to go viral, racking up millions of views. A few years later, A24 ordered a feature length adaptation of his story, and now the film has made its way to theatres.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Backrooms end-credits mention Ivan Beck<\/h2>\n

Sure, you won\u2019t find any extra scenes teasing the next potential movie, but there <\/span>is<\/span><\/i> a huge Easter egg: a mention of Ivan Beck.<\/span><\/p>\n

Yeah the Backrooms movie is phenomenal. Pure unadulterated fan service. 8.5\/10<\/p>\n

My only big critique is I think the video camera scenes could\u2019ve been way longer. They kinda just fly by.<\/p>\n
