The Roast of Kevin Hart controversy continues, as Shane Gillis has now responded to Chelsea Handler calling him and Tony Hinchcliffe \u201cracist\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hosted by Gillis and part of Netflix<\/a> Is a Joke Fest 2026, the nearly-three-hour comedy special aired on Sunday, May 10th.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event ran into controversy in the following days, particularly due to Hinchcliffe\u2019s comment about George Floyd<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Black community is so proud of you,\u201d the Kill Tony host said. \u201cRight now George Floyd is looking up at us all laughing so hard he can\u2019t breathe.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Floyd\u2019s family slammed the joke, and last week, a press conference was held<\/a> whereby civil rights activists and Floyd\u2019s relatives demanded accountability.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chelsea Handler<\/a>, another comedian featured during The Roast of Kevin Hart<\/a>, has since criticised Gillis and Hinchcliffe for their comments.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the latest episode of <\/span>Deon Cole\u2019s Funny Knowing You<\/span><\/a> podcast, when the conversation turned to the roast, Handler described the pair as \u201cracist\u201d and \u201csexist.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Gillis has now responded to Handler\u2019s comments, joking that she is \u201ccapitalising\u201d on the backlash surrounding the roast.<\/span><\/p>\n
