Euphoria star Nika King might play Rue\u2019s mum Leslie on the show, but her own mother is \u201cclowning\u201d her after discovering in real time that her scenes were cut from season three episode six<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The latest episode of the series landed on HBO<\/a> Max on Sunday, May 17th, and much of the focus is on Rue as she expresses hope for redemption. Caught between dangerous drug traffickers and the DEA, she seeks a moment of peace at a nearby church.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While there, Rue receives a call from her mum and answers, assuming it\u2019s the DEA agents (remember, they had her save their number as \u201cmom\u201d to avoid suspicion). But much to Rue\u2019s surprise, it\u2019s her actual mother.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Leslie has been largely absent from Euphoria<\/a> season three due to the emotional toll Rue\u2019s addiction has had on her, although she still checks in from time to time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For actress Nika King, the latest episode was due to be her big return to the show and she\u2019s been hyping it up on her socials, sharing clips from past episodes and asking questions like, \u201cDid Leslie stand on business or nah?\u201d in relation to season three episode seven.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

So when King and her mum tuned in last night, you can imagine their shock to discover that a majority of her scenes had been cut.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All we see is Rue having a conversation on the phone, before cutting to a 20-second segment of Leslie, during which she simply says, \u201cI love you Rue.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Nika King is getting \u2018clowned\u2019 by her mum over the cut Euphoria scenes<\/h2>\n

Clearly, King didn\u2019t get the memo, as she took to Instagram last night to respond. Through fits of laughter, she said, \u201cWait y’all. I just watched my episode that I’ve been promoting all week, and my mom over here <\/span>clowning<\/span><\/i> me.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy mom is clowning me. She said the internet waited all this time for me to just say one line.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

You can hear King\u2019s mother in the background asking \u201cWhat happened?\u201d before brutally saying \u201cThree years\u201d (as in, it\u2019s been three whole years between seasons two and three, and all she gets is this one-line, 19-second scene).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI can’t do nothing but laugh at it. When your mama clown you, it’s… I don’t know,\u201d King continued, before her mum chimed in, \u201cWhat you want me to say? You ain’t had nothing to say.\u201d Savage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

King finished by joking, \u201cWho needs enemies when you have a mother like this? You better be glad I have a sense of humour. You better be glad I got thick skin.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Her mom added, \u201cI’m just getting you ready for what’s coming.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The topic of cut scenes has been a big talking point amid the release of Euphoria season three, particularly as promo materials appeared to feature sequences that didn\u2019t ever get aired.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For instance, one clip showed Lexi dancing with a potential love interest during Cassie and Nate\u2019s wedding, but this didn\u2019t make the final cut.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A number of fans have expressed frustration over this, especially when Cassie\u2019s OnlyFans plot and other more explicit moments have received so much screentime.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Similarly, the online community has some thoughts about King\u2019s scenes being cut. Over on <\/span>Reddit<\/span><\/a>, one wrote, \u201cWould have preferred this over having to hear Faye\u2019s literal sh*t sounds on the toilet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Another pointed out the fact that King was seen breaking down her performance in the behind-the-scenes featurette. \u201cAnd then they kept her in the BTS talking about her performance that wasn\u2019t in the episode,\u201d they said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
