Ever since the truth about actor Tomer Capone\u2019s past resurfaced, a corner of The Boys<\/a> fandom is having a tough time feeling bad about his character Frenchie\u2019s death in the penultimate episode.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With just one episode of The Boys left to go – <\/span>ever<\/span><\/i> – the stakes couldn\u2019t be higher. We knew there were going to be some big deaths, and one of them arrived at the end of season five episode seven<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Homelander infiltrates their HQ, and Frenchie sacrifices himself in order to save Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara). When Homelander enters their homemade uranium cell, Frenchie flips the switch.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

His death happens off screen, causing some confusion, but it seems Homelander fled after discovering they\u2019d successfully used the uranium to give Kimiko depowering capabilities, while Frenchie dies from the high radiation levels.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Capone has spoken about this monumental moment, telling <\/span>Variety<\/span><\/a> that he can\u2019t even bring himself to watch the episode.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s too close, man. I\u2019m too attached,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s the longest character I\u2019ve ever had in my career. Frenchie has been there for five seasons, and at the moment it feels too close to watch.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Tomer Capone interview resurfaced<\/h2>\n

Though the interviewer found the moment \u201ctouching\u201d, the online community aren\u2019t so forgiving after finding out that Capone – an Israeli actor – served the Israel Defence Forces, having been conscripted in 2004.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Capone, now 40 years old, was a soldier before being promoted to squad leader, including during the 2006 Lebanon War.<\/span><\/p>\n
