Only one episode remains in The Boys, and I’m scared to watch it. Ahead of the final episode, The Boys cast have been hinting what the ending will be like. Basically, it sounds like carnage. I fear we all need to stock up on tissues ahead of next Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Help, many main characters will die<\/h2>\n

Eric Kripke<\/a> is the main creative behind The Boys<\/a> TV show. It sounds as if he didn’t hold back when writing the finale. He told SFX magazine<\/a>\u00a0that he believes the endings of TV shows should go full-out.<\/p>\n

He explained: “You can let people have the emotional confrontations that they’ll never recover from. We wanted to take full advantage of that, having these mind-blowing moments.<\/p>\n

“It’s a battle, and there are going to be casualties. It would be unrealistic not to. It bums me out when you have a big, epic sci-fi show, and then at the end, it’s like, ‘Oh, everyone’s fine.’ I keep yelling at the screen, ‘Things cost things! You can’t just get away with this!’ So yes, I wouldn’t get too attached to any single character.”<\/p>\n

Oh dear, perhaps I should make my peace with Kamiko and move on from her already.<\/p>\n

Jack Quaid warned The Boys won’t have a ‘fairytale’ ending<\/h2>\n

That’s the actor who stars as Hughie. He addressed the ending of The Boys on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon (yup, that’s its actual name). “It’s The Boys,” he said, “it’s not going to be a fairytale ending in any regard. This is the final season, and we really do mean that. There are characters – I won’t say who – who meet their end, and it’s crazy. It’s really, really nuts.”<\/p>\n

Er, Erin Moriarty says the ending will be ‘heartbreaking’<\/h2>\n

Erin Moriarty (aka Starlight aka Annie January) went into detail about how the final episode made her feel<\/a>. Apparently, when she read through the scripts, the finale was her favourite episode. She reckons “the audience is going to be so immensely satisfied by the finale”. However, it will be “heartbreaking”.<\/p>\n

She told The Hollywood Reporter<\/a>: “It\u2019s a heartbreaking episode. It\u2019s not overtly cynical. But it\u2019s still an episode that really drives home the finality of the show and the characters that we\u2019ve all become emotionally invested in, whether they\u2019re good or bad.<\/p>\n

“The point of the show is that these characters are nuanced. They aren\u2019t black and white. So the losses of characters that you thought you weren\u2019t rooting for can all of a sudden be emotional because no one is all bad and no one is all good on this show.”<\/p>\n

The ending will be tragic, as per Karl Urban<\/h2>\n

Karl Urban, who stars as Billy Butcher, shared with TV Insider<\/a>: “I gotta say, the audience will be well and truly satisfied with the fate that is meted out to all of the characters, both positive and negative, in the show. Season five is a hell of a ride. It is the most spectacular, action-packed, heartfelt, tragic, probably emotional season yet. Buckle up!”<\/p>\n

Argh, I may need a glass of wine (or a bottle) before I watch this.<\/p>\n
