On 24th April, news broke that Helena Bonham Carter wouldn’t be in The White Lotus anymore. Reports emerged that she’d exited the production during filming. Obviously, we were all desperate to find out the tea. We finally know the actual reason why Helena Bonham Carter won’t be in The White Lotus season four, and it’s brutal.<\/p>\n

So, season four of HBO<\/a>‘s The White Lotus<\/a> is being filmed as we speak in the French Riviera. Helena Bonham Carter was set to play a washed-up celebrity who is desperate to make a comeback, and is in France for the Cannes Film Festival. Her character was linked to the season’s overarching theme of fame.<\/p>\n

After spending less than a week on set, Helena Bonham Carter gave up on the project. According to Variety<\/a>, she left over “creative differences”. Apparently, Mike White (the creator of The White Lotus) was envisioning a “boisterous performance”. Helena Bonham Carter wasn’t a fan of this idea.<\/p>\n
