Paris Jackson is the 28-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson and Debbie Rowe. Her brother Prince is an executive producer of the film Michael, and her cousin Jafaar is actually starring as Michael. However, Paris has made it very, very clear that she’s not as involved with the Michael Jackson movie. Here’s why.<\/p>\n

Paris did take a look at the script<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Okay, so Paris did play a small part in the very early stages of the Michael Jackson<\/a> film. Back in August 2025, Colman Domingo<\/a> – the actor who plays Joseph Jackson in the film – said Paris and Prince were “very much in support of our film”. He claimed he “chatted briefly” with Paris about the film, and she was “nothing but lovely and warm”.<\/p>\n

Paris then took to Instagram to outline exactly what she did (and didn’t do) for the film.<\/p>\n

She wrote on her story: “Don\u2019t be telling people I was \u2018helpful\u2019 on the set of a movie I had zero per cent involvement in lol. That is so weird. I read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest [and what] didn\u2019t sit right with me.”<\/p>\n

In a follow-up video, Paris clarified: “I wan’t involved at all, aside from giving feedback on the first draft.”<\/p>\n

She seemed to dislike the direction the film went it<\/strong><\/h2>\n

According to Paris, the team behind the film did not take on board her notes as much as she would’ve liked. In the video on Instagram, she explained: “I just butted out and left it alone because it\u2019s not my project. They\u2019re going to make whatever they\u2019re going to make.”<\/p>\n

Paris did give some insight into why she wasn’t enthused about the script. She said: “A big reason why I haven\u2019t said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it. A big section of the film panders to a very specific section of my dad\u2019s fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they\u2019re gonna be happy with it.”<\/p>\n

Paris added: “The thing about these biopics is, it\u2019s Hollywood. It\u2019s fantasy land. It\u2019s not real … at the end of the day, that doesn\u2019t really fly with me.” Ouch.<\/p>\n

The film Michael ends with his performance at London’<\/a>s Wembley Stadium in 1988. The movie does not cover his later years, such as his trial in 2005<\/a>.<\/p>\n
