And now, the two leads are basically behaving like Catherine and Heathcliff never stopped haunting the moors, or each other.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"818\" data-end=\"1154\"><a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/tag\/margot-robbie\">Margot Robbie<\/a>, 35, who both produces the film and stars as Catherine Earnshaw, has reportedly gifted <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/tag\/jacob-elordi\">Jacob Elordi<\/a>, 28, a matching signet ring. Not just any ring, either. Completely normal colleague behaviour.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1234\" data-end=\"1498\">The rings landed just after Jacob described himself and Margot as having a \u201cmutual obsession\u201d with each other while filming. Speaking to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=OJZkTLg-_F8\"> Fandango<\/a>, he explained that whenever you\u2019re on set with Margot Robbie, you simply have to stay within five to ten metres of her at all times.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1500\" data-end=\"1734\">\u201cI think the thing is, regardless of plot or screenplay, if you have the opportunity to share a film set with Margot Robbie, you\u2019re going to make sure you\u2019re within five to ten metres,\u201d he said, while Margot sat right there. Casually.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1736\" data-end=\"1891\">He then went on to explain that he watched everything she did. How she drank tea. How she ate. When she might finally slip up. Apparently, she never did.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1893\" data-end=\"2222\">Meanwhile, Margot has admitted she became \u201ccodependent\u201d on Jacob during filming, saying she\u2019d start looking around the set for him and feel \u201cunnerved and unmoored\u201d if he wasn\u2019t there. She likened it to being \u201ca kid without their blanket,\u201d which is definitely one of the more emotionally loaded things you can say about a co-star.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_573367\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-573367\" style=\"width: 1186px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2028\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.filmshrine.com\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-28-at-12.25.21-1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1186\" height=\"784\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-573367\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Warner Bros<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p data-start=\"2224\" data-end=\"2415\">In another interview with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vogue.com.au\/culture\/features\/margot-robbie-jacob-elordi-vogue-cover\/image-gallery\/5ad9d7f5993076606fd750152a3678fc\">Vogue Australia<\/a>,\u00a0the pair also revealed they \u201chated\u201d filming scenes when the other wasn\u2019t on set, which feels very on-brand for two people playing one of literature\u2019s most toxic couples.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2417\" data-end=\"2457\">And it didn\u2019t stop when the cameras did.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2459\" data-end=\"2664\">Margot recently attended a Wuthering Heights-themed bachelorette party, where she screened the film for her friends for the first time. According to her, it was \u201cthe most unhinged experience of my life&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2666\" data-end=\"2970\">On <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=kpLarmsYVx4\">Jimmy Kimmel Live<\/a>, she described 20 women in lace, corsets and veils, already a few drinks deep, \u201cfrothing at the mouth\u201d, &#8220;like rapid dogs&#8221;, and screaming so loudly when Jacob appeared onscreen that it \u201cregistered on the Richter scale\u201d. Margot joked that if Jacob had actually been there, \u201cthey would eat him\u201d, which honestly feels believable.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2972\" data-end=\"3098\">Jacob, for his part, says that during filming there were moments when the lines between actor and character genuinely blurred.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3100\" data-end=\"3394\">\u201cThere\u2019d be a moment where we\u2019d be running hand in hand through the moors\u2026 where I\u2019d look across at her and she\u2019d be looking at me and you really realized you were looking at Catherine and she was looking at Heathcliff,\u201d he said. \u201cIn that moment, we really were a part of their love, for real.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_573368\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-573368\" style=\"width: 1232px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2029\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.filmshrine.com\/uploads\/2026\/01\/Screenshot-2026-01-28-at-12.26.26.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1232\" height=\"704\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-573368\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Warner Bros<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p data-start=\"3396\" data-end=\"3679\">Add in the fact that Jacob once surprised Margot on Valentine\u2019s Day by filling her room with roses in character as Heathcliff, something she openly admitted made her think he\u2019d be \u201ca very good boyfriend\u201d, and you can see why people are starting to squint at this whole situation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3681\" data-end=\"3828\">Not everyone is buying it. One person on X pointed out that Margot is married, calling the whole thing \u201cfake PR\u201d and \u201ccondescending to the public\u201d.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3830\" data-end=\"4033\">So, is this just two extremely committed actors leaning hard into a gothic romance for promo? Or has Wuthering Heights somehow turned its press tour into a full-blown emotional support situationship?<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"4035\" data-end=\"4131\">Either way, everyone needs to calm down.
