But the makeup artist actually had a clever reason behind this makeup choice.<\/p>\n<p>The hair and makeup in both <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/tag\/wicked\">Wicked<\/a> films is one of the elements that make the films so magical. From the mind-blowing makeup for Scarecrow and Tin Man to Elphaba&#8217;s amazing wig, it&#8217;s no wonder the makeup team have received multiple rewards. However, one thing that lots of people have been questioning is <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/2025\/11\/26\/a-spicy-glinda-and-fiyero-scene-was-cut-from-wicked-for-good-for-the-wildest-reason\">Glinda&#8217;s<\/a> lashes.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">&#8220;Why are Glinda\u2019s eyelashes so long to the point it\u2019s distracting?<\/span><span class=\"css-1jxf684 r-bcqeeo r-1ttztb7 r-qvutc0 r-poiln3\">&#8221; said one person on X.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">how i felt every time glinda\u2019s long ass eyelashes were on screen <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/F13yR2dLp2\">pic.twitter.com\/F13yR2dLp2<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Amy \ud83e\udd96 (@fiyercrows) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/fiyercrows\/status\/1991935773223133583?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 21, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Frances Hannon, who was part of the makeup team for both Wicked films, has finally explained why Glinda&#8217;s lashes are so different in this film, and the exact reason why.\u00a0In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tiktok.com\/@illumin_arty\/video\/7576000683388767510?_r=1&amp;_t=ZN-91kND2lW8xy\">interview<\/a> with TikTok creator and makeup artist Illumin_arty, whose name is Tiffany, she talked about this controversial makeup choice.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They were very doe eyed but they still gave her this winged lash effect, was that a difficult thing to find the right balance on?&#8221; Tiffany asked.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s very interesting you noticed, because it was one of the changes we chose for going from Wicked to Wicked: For Good, we didn&#8217;t change her foundation or her eyeshadow or anything but we framed her eyes much stronger within the density of the lashes and the stronger line,&#8221; Frances said.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_417861\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-417861\" style=\"width: 1548px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-648 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn.filmshrine.com\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Wicked-Glinda-The-Good-screenshot-billboard-1548-1.webp\" alt=\"wicked glinda film ariana grande songs\" width=\"1548\" height=\"1025\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-417861\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">(Image via Universal Pictures)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>She added: &#8220;Ari has really deep, strong eyes, so she could really take it. It gave her a really different quality, I can&#8217;t say it aged her, it matured her.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The makeup artist also revealed that Ariana had a strong input in what her Glinda looked like, and helped the makeup team decide what worked and what didn&#8217;t.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ari is truly amazing, she recognises what works, she recognises stuff that you say is good and she recognises stuff that&#8217;s not right for her, as her Glinda.
