This is mainly down to the intense bond between Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, whose casting as Glinda and Elphaba has forged a friendship so inseparably close it makes the characters on screen&#8217;s friendships look like acquaintances. Whether it was last year&#8217;s chaos of holding space or that weird video where Cynthia fixed Ari&#8217;s necklace even though there was nothing wrong with it, or this year&#8217;s chaos resulting in Cynthia having to physically protect Ariana from a terrifying &#8220;weird&#8221; fan &#8211; it&#8217;s all a lot. There&#8217;s now a new <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/tag\/wicked\">Wicked For Good<\/a> press tour &#8216;weird&#8217; video going viral because what happens in it is honestly beyond explanation and the tweets about Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo show just how mad things have gotten.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>&#8216;This is getting bizarre&#8217;<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>In a post originally translated from Portuguese, a video now has 32.7 million views and nobody is any wiser in what&#8217;s happened in it.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"pt\">Isso ta ficando bizarro meu deus <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/djCKjxYdn4\">pic.twitter.com\/djCKjxYdn4<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 edinho (@ederhaze) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ederhaze\/status\/1990023154291601639?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 16, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" async=\"\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The video shows Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande and producer Marc Platt &#8211; and at one point Marc grabs Ariana&#8217;s arm and excitedly shakes it. To be fair, it is quite vigorous but nothing bad is happening. Ariana looks very shocked at this and someone on TikTok said she then &#8220;held her arm like an injured dog paw&#8221; &#8211; to which Cynthia then cradled it and put her head to it? Why? We have no clue.<\/p>\n<p>One person online said eventually &#8220;there&#8217;s going to be a documentary about the actors of Wicked.&#8221; Another said &#8220;I&#8217;ve ignored everything about them so far, but this is getting nutty.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Let me shed some humble former theatre kid insight on what I truly believe is happening. When you&#8217;re in a musical on whatever scale, you DO get sucked into this family vibe with your cast on a level that you&#8217;ll only understand if you&#8217;ve ever been in a show with people. You forget how intense things look on the outside because you&#8217;re in your bubble and it makes sense to you. All I think of when I see these clips is that the cast of Wicked are a form of this but amplified to a global scale. For two years. Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo don&#8217;t realise how &#8216;weird&#8217; a video like this looks to non Wicked folk &#8211; and to be honest, they probs don&#8217;t care. They&#8217;re going through something huge!<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s my theory anyway.
