The Alpha zombie movie, 28 Years Later<\/a>, just released today, June 20, and it\u2019s already got everyone talking<\/a> about its surprising and rather wild ending. The film follows 12-year-old Spike as he leaves his safe island home to face the infected chaos of the mainland. Along the way, he meets some unusual characters, but it\u2019s the final scene that really stands out, where a mysterious cult leader named Jimmy Crystal, played by Jack O\u2019Connell, appears with his gang dressed in shell suits and blonde wigs.<\/p>\n

This left many people curious about who Jimmy really is and why his character is so important. Now, director Danny Boyle has shared interesting details that explain the wild ending of 28 Years Later.<\/p>\n

In an interview with The Independent<\/a>, Danny Boyle explained that Jimmy Crystal is actually the grown-up version of the young boy we see in the film\u2019s opening scene. He is the same boy whose family is killed during the initial outbreak. This makes Jimmy much more than just a new character. He represents the return of evil into a world that was starting to heal.<\/p>\n

The cult\u2019s look, with shell suits and blonde wigs, is inspired by the real-life figure Jimmy Savile, a once-famous TV personality who later became infamous due to serious scandals. This unsettling reference helps show just how dark and dangerous Jimmy Crystal and his followers really are.<\/p>\n

Boyle also revealed the bigger picture behind the trilogy\u2019s themes. The first film focuses on family, while the second, where Jimmy plays a bigger role, explores the nature of evil. So Jimmy\u2019s cult and shocking actions perfectly set the stage for the sequel, 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple.<\/p>\n
