If you\u2019ve ever watched Final Destination<\/a> and wondered, \u201cWhy are they getting those visions before death strikes?\u201d, you\u2019re not the only one. With the release of Final Destination: Bloodlines, some viewers were hoping the franchise would finally reveal the reason behind the visions or where they come from.<\/p>\n

But according to producer Craig Perry, that\u2019s not happening. And it\u2019s a deliberate choice.<\/p>\n

So why don\u2019t they explain it?<\/h2>\n

Speaking to CinemaBlend<\/a>, Perry said the team has always wanted to keep that part of the story a mystery. Giving a full explanation, he argued, would take away from the suspense and the fear.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we tell you how it works, then it means you could never have one,\u201d he said. \u201cBut if it stays a mystery, you\u2019ll always wonder, \u2018Could this happen to me?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

He even compared it to Star Wars<\/a>, saying that when they introduced the idea of midi-chlorians, it made the idea of being a Jedi feel less magical. It\u2019s the same with Final Destination, it\u2019s more unsettling when the rules aren\u2019t clear.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the randomness that\u2019s scary<\/h2>\n

What makes the films so eerie is how normal the accidents seem. Loose wires, falling objects, dodgy lifts, all completely ordinary things. That randomness is part of the point.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou never know when or where,\u201d Perry said. \u201cWe want you to leave the cinema thinking, \u2018What if I get a premonition tomorrow?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

But the directors have their own theory<\/h2>\n

While the films won\u2019t explain it officially, directors Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein shared their personal take. They think \u201cDeath\u201d is just toying with people.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe gets bored,\u201d said Stein. \u201cSo he gives people a chance, watches them try to escape, then takes them anyway, like a cat playing with a mouse.\u201d<\/p>\n
