Kennedy International Airport, before Blair was taken to hospital for medical evaluation. She allegedly kicked a Port Authority police officer in the head and was later accused of assaulting a nurse at the hospital.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blair appeared in <a href=\"https:\/\/thetab.com\/filmshrine\/tag\/crime\/\">court<\/a> on Monday, where she pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault relating to the officer and nurse. The alleged onboard assaults are being investigated separately by federal authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Selma Blair&#8217;s lawyer reveals alleged &#8216;medical emergency&#8217;<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">During the hearing, which led to the actress being released from custody on $20,000 bail, Blair\u2019s attorney Shawn Barnes told the court that she was in the throes of a \u201cmedical emergency\u201d at the time of the alleged altercation.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Actress Selma Blair was seen leaving Queens Criminal Court following her arraignment on Monday. Kennedy International Airport on Sunday night.\u2026 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/9YnSkQKPIM\">pic.twitter.com\/9YnSkQKPIM<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; CBS News (@CBSNews) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CBSNews\/status\/2109854425418215443?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 13, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2026\/10\/12\/us-news\/selma-blair-was-off-meds-confused-during-midair-meltdown-lawyer\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">New York Post<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Barnes noted that Blair lives with multiple sclerosis and had \u201cmissed several doses of\u2026 a powerful medication that controls severe neurological symptoms.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He also said she boarded the flight \u201cafter being on set and working extensive hours and exhaustive hours in the days leading up to it,\u201d adding: \u201cAdditionally, at one point, during the flight, there was an incident where Miss Blair actually fell and hit her head.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThese factors, coupled with the altitude, resulted in a state of severe confusion and disorientation,\u201d Barnes told the judge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The lawyer also said Blair had been diagnosed with Parkinsonism &#8211; a term for a group of neurological symptoms that resemble those of Parkinson&#8217;s disease &#8211; in addition to the multiple sclerosis diagnosis she publicly disclosed in 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe do not believe, your honour, that this is an intentional assault,\u201d Barnes said, according to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2026\/10\/13\/us\/selma-blair-charges-flight-incident-wwk-hnk\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CNN\u2019s<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> reporting of the court hearing.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Flight audio reveals what pilot said before Selma Blair&#8217;s arrest<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Audio from air traffic control has also shed light on what was being reported onboard the Delta flight before it landed in New York.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\ud83d\udea8 Selma Blair allegedly caused chaos aboard a Delta Airlines flight &#8212; punching one flight attendant and biting another after trying to open the plane&#39;s door in the middle of the flight. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/YnfqQEjRsN\">pic.twitter.com\/YnfqQEjRsN<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; TMZ (@TMZ) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TMZ\/status\/2109705823240732871?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 12, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.x.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cAh, a bloody nose as well as some bite marks as well, so I don&#8217;t think we need an ambulance or anything like that but if we could get some medical personnel at the gate, to look at their injuries,\u201d the pilot said in the audio.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt sounds like the disruptive passenger also bashed her head on the bulkhead or something like that, so we&#8217;ll obviously have to get her potentially checked out as well as law enforcement.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Port Authority confirmed that two flight attendants reported injuries, with one taken to hospital for further assessment. Law enforcement sources also said (via <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/newyork\/news\/selma-blair-arrested-incident-on-board-flight-from-lax-to-jfk\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CBS<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) that Blair tried to open one of the cabin doors and had to be restrained for the rest of the journey.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once on land, Blair allegedly freed one of her legs from the straps of a stretcher as she was being prepared for transport to hospital, before repeatedly kicking a Port Authority police officer in the face, neck and chest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">She\u2019s also accused of kicking a nurse in the chest at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in the early hours of Monday morning, while being moved for further treatment.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>How long the actress could face in prison if convicted&nbsp;<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Blair could face between two and seven years in prison if convicted of the state\u2019s assault charges brought against her. The actress has pleaded not guilty to two counts of second-degree assault in New York.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Her next appearance in Queens Criminal Court is scheduled for January 19, 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The actress is also facing a separate federal case over the alleged assaults on flight attendants.
