You’ve probably wondered, when you’re tired and hungover and guilty about the night before, whether you’re a bad person. Now researchers may have proven you’re even worse than you think.

According to Harvard psychologists, people can suffer from a phenomenon called “unethical amnesia”: as in, we selectively forget our bad behaviour. This apparently explains why seemingly nice people cheat on their partners, dodge tax and – gasp – “illegally download music from the internet”.
