This prestigious crown was given out by reviews website studentcrowd.com, who surveyed over 5100 students for their views on their first year living conditions.

The UK’s 2100 halls were rated and slated, before the best 50 were found. Also featuring in the top ten were halls from Loughborough, Bath, Exeter, Newcastle, UEA and Bangor.

Halls were rated across six categories: cleaning, management, location, value, social space and social experience.

Muscley meatheads Loughborough took both silver and bronze medals for Falkner Eggington and Harry French halls respectively.
