The other uni in Sheffield has swept to stardom this week after one of their halls took the crown for the best halls in the UK.

Liberty Works, catering for Hallam students and located in the city centre, boasts free sky TV in the common room as well as authentically edgy brick walls and free wifi throughout.

Reviewers described the £97 a week, self-catered halls as: “fantastic accommodation with brilliant staff who make everyone very welcome” and “by far the best and worth every penny”

This prestigious crown was given out by reviews website studentcrowd.com, who surveyed over 5100 students for their views on their first year living conditions.

The UK’s 2100 halls were rated and slated, before the best 50 were found. Also featuring in the top ten were halls from Loughborough, Bath, Exeter, Newcastle, UEA and Bangor.

Halls were rated across six categories: cleaning, management, location, value, social space and social experience.

Muscley meatheads Loughborough took both silver and bronze medals for Falkner Eggington and Harry French halls respectively.

Reviewers on the site praised the two midlands halls as:”Newly refurbished and still the cheapest” as well as praising the “amazing atmosphere” and “great value for money”.
