Entire house of six girls all graduate with a first

Bet they threw mad parties

Making up what might be the brainiest student house in the country, a group of six mates all graduated with firsts this week.

All six girls managed to bag a first in their business-related courses.

Swots Eleanor Kerr, Emma Fawcett and Clara Mooring, all 22, plus Hannah Marshall and Nia Davies, both 23, all made the top grade in their fashion buying and marketing course.

Not wanting to be left out, their other housemate Emma Gristwood, 22, also nabbed a first in Business and Marketing.

Emma told The Tab: “We were on holiday together when we found out. We were all around the pool in Spain.

“It was quite intense because everyone was checking one by one and the internet wasn’t too good.

“It took about 15 minutes before we all figured out we’d got firsts.

“We were all just like ‘Oh my god I can’t believe it’ – and as soon as it happened we opened some Cava.”

It might sound like it was all work and no play for the six girls, but Emma insists they still managed to go out.

“We did all work pretty hard but did still go out and have fun

“We’d all done placement years before so were in a work kind of mindset, getting up early and going to the library all day but in the evenings we could do things that were fun.

“We still got to go out at least once a week, but when it got nearer the deadlines we wouldn’t go as much.

“We used to practise our presentations together, and we were all so supportive of each other.

“Everyone was ready pleased and our parents were so proud.”

Putting her first to good use, Emma is set to join the M&S buying team in September.

And one of the other girls, Eleanor, is set to start the Tesco grad scheme in September.
