How to get a job and still have a summer to remember
Don’t spend every day re-writing cover letters, it’s sunny outside
Whether you’re looking for a summer internship or a grad scheme, the end of exams means you can’t put the job hunt off any longer. The only problem: it’s really sunny outside and all your mates are out partying every day.
Job applications take time, and chances are you’re going to need to send off more than one which means hours spent indoors re-drafting cover letters rather than enjoying the best bits of the summer. After all, recent reports have said the number of graduates competing for a position can be as high as 160. So unless you’re one of the blessed few who get first time lucky, that’s a lot of time you’re going to spend looking for a job this summer.
Fortunately, searching for a job doesn’t need to be a full-time job. Within 10 minutes, you can be signed up to TalentPool and have companies contacting you rather than applying to them in vain.
You’re only contacted by employers in areas you’re interested in and there’s something for everyone – employers looking to hire right now range from boutique consultancies and PR firms to creative agencies and tech start-ups.
So, stop wasting time fretting over your CV or attending interviews for companies that don’t really care about hiring you and leave yourself some time to have fun this summer.
Just think, with all the time you’ll save you might be able to fit in a festival or two…
Or you could go travelling?
Or take that group holiday you keep trying to organise with your mates?
Whatever you want to do this summer, make sure you have the time to do it and make your job hunt as easy as possible. Click here to sign up to TalentPool.
