How well do you know your boobs?

Go on, have a feel

| UPDATED

Look down at your boobs (or pecs), and ask yourself this: how much do you know about your boobs?

Now, look back up. It’s time for some serious talk. Knowing how your boobs normally feel is really important, as it means you’ll be able to spot any early signs of breast cancer.

Before you start to poke and grope in a panic because we’ve used the c-word, take a breath: breast cancer doesn’t need to be scary. In fact, that’s why CoppaFeel! are recruiting Boob Team leaders at your uni, to put some fun back into body awareness and take away the fear factor.

How can you make the idea of checking yourself for cancer fun, you ask? Well, dressing up as an actual human-sized boob is always a good start.

Knowing what’s normal for you and your boobs is so, so important, particularly while you’re young as your boobs are pretty dense. CoppaFeel! founder Kristin was misdiagnosed twice for breast cancer at the age of 23, and after doing some research Kris found early detection is key in treating breast cancer successfully. Therefore it’s a no brainer that everyone would benefit from having a little feel of their boobs every now and again.

Boob Team leaders help to spread this message at their uni by providing students with information about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, as well as organising awareness-raising events on campus.

Launch yourself into the CoppaFeel! family and you can get involved with a whole host of CoppaFeel! activity, including their annual music festival, Festifeel, which is curated by CoppaFeel!’s patron Fearne Cotton, and the UK summer boob tour which sees them pitch their boob cube at the top UK music festivals.
