Classicfootballshirts.co.uk was started in a student house in Fallowfield by Manchester students Doug Bierton and Matthew Dale.

They started the business by blowing their student loan and credit cards on buying up all the vintage football shirts they could.

For the first year they lived solely on pasta, running from Fallowfield to Didsbury to pay in cheques because they couldn’t afford a bus, and renting a four bed house for two people (with two of the bedrooms stuffed completely with football shirts by the end of the year – the landlord was a bit surprised.
