Facebook is going to stop you from posting awful drunken selfies

They basically control your life now

The days of posting cringe, boozed-up selfies on Facebook could be over as tech boffins are developing artificial intelligence to stop you embarrassing yourself.

Genius coders are working on cutting edge software to ask you if you really want to post pictures of your hammered self late at night.

They’re putting together a “deep learning” system to analyse photos and posts to identify what you might regret in the cold morning light of sobriety.

Yann LeCun, Facebook’s chief of artificial intelligence research, said: “Imagine that you had an intelligent digital assistant which would mediate your interaction with your friends and also with content on Facebook.

“Are you sure you want your boss and your mother to see this?”

Facebook aims to create a “digital assistant” to analyse your every action, not just photos but videos and interactions.

New York Uni researcher LeCun added: “You will have a single point of contact to mediate your interaction but also to protect your private information.

“You need a machine to really understand content and understand people and be able to hold all that data.”
