They’ve bottled it: Marking boycott suspended

Get back to work

Grumbling lecturers have postponed the marking boycott after showdown talks between uni bigwigs.

The boycott, which has been in action for two weeks, will be suspended until January after the University and College Union agreed to back down in the ongoing row over pension schemes.

A union statement said: “It is hoped that this period can be used to close the differences between the negotiating positions.

“Both parties are committed to seeking a joint proposal to reform that offers an affordable, sustainable and attractive pension scheme.”
